Dr. Vikram R. Lotwala is a leading Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgeon, serving as the Director and Chief Surgeon at Wings Hospital, Surat, and holding key roles at Universal, United Green, and SIDS Hospitals. He also works as a visiting consultant at Mahavir, Shalby, Silver, and BAPS Hospitals in Surat.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Lotwala has pioneered bariatric surgery in South Gujarat, becoming the first surgeon in the region to perform advanced procedures like Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Intragastric Balloon Placement.

Dr. Lotwala’s academic journey includes prestigious fellowships in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery from renowned institutions such as St. Vincent Hospital in Korea and Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai.

He was awarded the Shakuntala Bhartia Fellowship in GI Onco-Surgery at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and also completed a traveling fellowship in Bariatric Surgery under the mentorship of Dr. C.K. Huang in Taiwan. His dedication to education and skill-building has led him to present at numerous global medical forums and contribute to respected publications in the field of surgery.

Dr. Lotwala is the recipient of multiple accolades, including being the first bariatric surgeon in South Gujarat and a pioneer in the region’s obesity awareness movement through his “nLightenClub.” He has been instrumental in advancing bariatric surgery, performing over 2000 successful procedures.

Dr. Lotwala is also deeply involved in clinical research, serving as the principal investigator for ongoing global studies, and has contributed to numerous national and international papers and presentations, showcasing his leadership in the field of bariatric and metabolic surgery.
