Bariatric Surgery - A life Changing Procedure
Bariatric surgery in Surat is not a one-day event. It is the start of a long-term change in how you eat, move and live. This short clip is from a patient support group meeting organised by Dr. Vikram Lotwala and the Wings Bariatrics team, built around one simple theme: weight loss is a journey, not the destination.

Why support groups matter after bariatric surgery
Surgery is one step. Long-term results depend on regular follow-up, the right diet, physical activity and staying motivated. Support group meetings give patients a place to ask questions, learn from each other and stay on track with guidance from the care team.
Frequently asked questions
Is bariatric surgery a permanent solution for weight loss?
Bariatric surgery helps many people lose weight and keep it off, but the result depends on following the diet, activity and follow-up advice given by your care team. That is why weight loss is called a journey, not a destination.
Why should I attend a support group after weight loss surgery?
Support group meetings let you ask questions, learn from other patients and stay motivated. They also keep you in regular touch with your surgeon and dietitian after the operation.
What kind of diet is followed after bariatric surgery?
Your surgeon and dietitian give you a staged diet plan that suits your procedure and your health. The aim is balanced, protein-rich meals in small portions. Always follow the plan given by your own care team.
